Belle Vue Court was built c.1968 on the site of Belle Vue Hall, home of William Percival Boxall. Belle Vue Hall’s original garden wall still stands. (See also 22 Walpole Road).
A house on nearby Marine Parade at the seaward end of Burlington Street c.1800 was called Belle Vue; houses to the west of the top of Burlington Street on Bristol Road preserve the name. See also Eastern Road.
Belle Vue Hall was by turn a private home, school and maternity home.
